As if the blogger-land wasn’t full of gift guides already for this time of year, I thought I’d throw mine in for the craic. This isn’t a gift guide exactly anyway, this is more of a blatant excuse for me to go sleuthing through the internet and give my family and friends a big red arrow on exactly what I’d like for Crimbo – no lie.
Usually I go pinning on a secret board and then share it out on FB but this time I felt like sharing with the internet (and my blog) what I’ve got my beady little eyes and to maybe give you some ideas on what you’d like to gift one another (or yourself) this festive season:
I purchased a Benefit Gimme Brow Gel a little while ago and loved it, but I’ve now come to realise that it’s been recalled. Well, although my one smells a little peculiar it performs very well on my brows and I’ve come to frequently rely on it in my daily routine… but I just want something more.
I’m all about reading up on review after review of products that I’ve been spying but this I’ve saved myself from researching on purpose, the brow gel itself has been good enough to persuade me to want to try something else from Benefit’s brow collection. Maybe if Santa Claus delivers this to me on Christmas Day I can finally chuck out my battered Rimmel London brow palette that I’ve had in my make up bag since last year.
I asked months ago if anyone could recommend another MAC lipstick that was like my babe Velvet Teddy and this shade came back as the most popular. Each time I go into a MAC shop or to a stand I eye it hungrily, and each time there’s something more important or inexpensive I’ve brought instead. It’s about time I added to my MAC lipstick collection because their matte formula is by far my most loved and worn of my stash.
I’ll perhaps be marching down the shops on Boxing Day (my first off of work in three years!) to grab this if needs be, it feels like fate needs us to meet and fall in lipstick love – after all this time.
I saw a promo video for this eyeshadow palette on Facebook before it was realised and initially I admit that I thought it looked cheap. Where was a going to store such a large palette anyway?
I’ve used Kat’s liquid lipsticks and I especially love the shade Lolita, so I’ve had my ears pricked for any other of her cosmetics to try. Looking at the shadow palettes on offer already there wasn’t anything that made me want to rush out and buy apart from this – there are some real stand out colours and I’d really like to give the formula a go.
I hadn’t given this palette much of a thought until I came across a recent review of it last week because it shows the packaging itself in a much better light. No one wants to go spending on cardboard packing that’s going to bend and crinkle over time with storage, so seeing a video that showed the box and doors looking sturdier than beforehand completely changed my mind.
You can’t move without seeing the NYX vaults anywhere online these days, and it just makes me want one more. I’ve used and loved the lip cremes for months and even have five of them in different shades in my stash. You can easily call me a fan. I’m not joking when I say how badly I want this in my life.
We’ve all had the odd cheapo makeup selection box it under our Christmas trees before so why not ask for a make up selection box that’s premium instead? I really don’t need another make up bag I won’t use and I will definitely use plenty of these lip cremes even if some of them aren’t exactly my shade – I’ll still rock it.
Although I was quite disappointed in the Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette I have this feeling that I just haven’t seen the best of Too Faced. I wore the Melted Latex liquified lipstick in ‘I’m Bossy‘ this past weekend and it re-ignited my intrigue in this brand. Now, I’m all about getting my hands on those products that got away and this long-wear blusher is one of them. Like clockwork, every time I go to a counter to buy this it’s out of stock – I must be bad luck.
I mean, the packaging itself throws me back to the 90s and my Polly Pocket phase. I wasn’t one of these kids that hanged with Polly and her tiny mates for the street cred, I played and played with those tiny toys for months until one of them inevitably went up the hoover. I loved Ms. Pocket and the heart-shaped compacts on these blushers gives me serious throwback vibes. Plus, I’m a sucker for any type of blusher I don’t yet own.
I have a bottle of the famous Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation but this dupe has been calling my name for weeks. I think it may be a little to difficult to guarantee that Santa finds me the right shade so he may need need a little help – but I’m sure he won’t mind.
I’ve heard many a good thing about this foundation and the price tag just make it all the more attractive to be – but I can just never find the time to properly hunt it down in the shops. I really do love a good quality dupe for an expensive product and I’m hoping that this from W7 performs – *hint* *hint* *nudge* *nudge*
I might have skipped on writing this up in my letter to St. Nick and already grabbed one of these in the Black Friday sales. I couldn’t help it, I saw it at half price and any and all patience I had went out the window. Looks the like husband owes me one extra gift this year, heh.
Seriously, although I have a fan brush from Spectrum that came in a Glossybox this summer and haven’t been blown away by it per se, I still read very good things about this brand and the quality of their brushes. I’ve longed for a full set of quality brushes that isn’t a knock-off brand from Amazon or the odd Read Techniques brush I’ve grabbed on offer in Boots forever and this little set ticks all the right boxes.
Have you used any of the products on my wish list? What did you think of them? And, have you found any cracking beauty bargains online already? Let me know in the comments.
