A Mini Lush Winter Haul

It was quite a while ago that I decided to pop down to my local Lush and treat myself to some bits. I actually received a few of these in a gift bag from my visit for the launch of the 2016 winter range and it’s taken a long time to get through them – because I just love to leave my Lush purchases for when I really need a pamper sesh.

This is only a small haul and you’ve perhaps seen these products time and time again on other people’s blogs but I thought I’d shout about what thought of them as well as everyone else – ready?

Lord of Misrule Shower Cream

This has been a firm favourite in our household since we found out that it was a part of the winter collection and would still be on sale throughout Christmas. I’d like to describe this shower cream as having earthy tones because whenever I use it I think about how it doesn’t smell sickly sweet like some other products, it smells clean and fresh instead.

This has been sitting on Rick’s side of the shower for a while and I know he likes to use it on the odd occasion and not everyday so I can always smell the scent on him. This is his favourite over mine so I don’t think I would buy this for myself but I love how unisex it is because I can sneak a little every once in a while with him being none the wiser – and wondering what that familiar smell is I’m wearing. Heh.

Candy Mountain Bubble Bar

This is perhaps my all-time favourite Lush product because for under three quid you get a sweet smelling bath that smells just like sweets and you don’t have to use it all in one go either, so it lasts longer. The first product that really got me into Lush was The Comforter and Candy Mountain always reminds me of it when I don’t have any in.

Bubble bars are a winner in my book because they’re not a one time thing like bath bombs so you can use as much or as little as you wish – so you can smell like an entire sweet shop or just one aisle. I save this for special occasion evenings when I’m really in need of a bath to wind down in so I usually prop myself up in the tub with something playing off of Netflix on our tablet. And just look at it, it’s so glittery.

Butterbear Bath Bomb

This little fella is always a good addition to my basket when I whip around a branch because he’s so affordable and he turns my bath milky white. I feel like Cleopatra bathing in diamonds whenever I have a soak with this one and my skin feels oh so soft afterwards.

The only issue with using this bath bomb is that the slippery oils cause all sorts of havoc in my bath the day after and he really sets off my eczema for some reason so I have stock up on my anti-itch creams in the evening so I don’t absent-mindedly catch a patch and cause a bleed. I almost always buy one anyway because if I won’t use him I know Rick will so he’ll get a use in our house and is a good filler for any Lush collection.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel

I don’t have a photo of this bottle because I managed to knacker my camera during this shoot. Basically my sensor needs a good clean and it meant that whenever I took a close-up of the bottle it came out blurry and with a black mark on all of the pictures. But anyway, I digress.

Personally I’ve never quite gotten the hype behind the snow fairy range with a lot of bloggers and I really can’t fathom spending so much money on a shower gel and stocking up on bottles of it when it comes into stock at this time of year. Well, I’ve finally gotten my head around it after using this exclusively for a week or so. I love so many things about this product from how it has glittery bits, how it smells like candy floss and how bubbly the formula is. I’ve already asked Santa quite nicely for a full size bottle but I’ll have to wait and see what comes down my chimney. It’s oh so lush.

Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub

I’ve talked before about how much I like this scrub and now it’s taking pride of place next to all of my lotions and potions I use nightly because it feels so nice to slather on to exfoliate my lips during this harsh weather. I’m looking for something substantial to use after this to make my lips feels soft and supple but for now a simple blot of Vaseline does the job.

I really like the flavour of this and how, because of it’s simple recipe and texture, that you can use just the right amount on your lips. I have a bad habit of using too much product on my lips and this is great for a quick use in the evening and sometimes in the morning because it’s just right for me. I never thought I’d be a fan of lip scrub but I am now, and I really can’t wait to try so more flavours.

Have you used any of the products in my haul? What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments.
